The reality is that teams are the engine of performance
Every result in your business - every sale, every project delivered, every innovation, every customer experience - is the output of a team of people, somewhere, doing something.
Even when it looks like individual brilliance, there’s always a team behind it. Let’s be honest, few, if any people can be successful entirely on their own.
But here’s the challenge, most teams aren’t truly teams. And we can argue group vs team, and short term vs long term, but often in business we see groups of individuals working in parallel. Co-ordinating, perhaps… cooperating occasionally, but not fully aligned, not fully trusting and not really committed to a shared outcome.
And that gap - between a bunch of people and a genuine team - is where opportunity and performance is lost.
